Generated DMARC Record Syntax Decoded

Records created using our DMARC generator may look something like this:

Record Type : TXT

Host : _dmarc

Value:

v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; adkim=s; rua=mailto:rua@powerdmarc.com; ruf=mailto:ruf@powerdmarc.com; pct=100; fo=1;

  • v refers to the version of the protocol
  • p depicts the policy established for mail handling
  • adkim/aspf depicts your SPF and DKIM header alignment modes which can be strict for exact domain alignment or relaxed for top-level domain alignment
  • rua and ruf refer to DMARC aggregate and forensic reporting email addresses respectively
  • pct denotes the percentage of validated messages sent from a domain
  • fo stands for forensic options that trigger the alerts sent to your email address
